'Extras, you can leave now!' We get a warm round of applause from the crew. It's about 7 pm and we've been on the go since 6 am. In the finished movie, what we've all done today will amount to less than three minutes of screen time....

We make our escape. Job done. Glad to get away. Shame there was no Sam Rockwell on my day's filming, though apparently Ben Schwartz was around somewhere, because we spot the second unit filming from a high roof opposite the pub for the scenes involving him and Amanda Donohoe as we leave.

And it is true what they say: making a movie is mostly waiting around. And more waiting around. And more waiting around. Waiting for something to happen.
And then, when it does, if you're lucky enough to be in front of the camera, it's nothing but stress, laughter and sheer exhilaration.
And I’ve learned something else about myself today, too: I’m a born ham.
